About Me

As a young girl I began my riding career at 7 years of age in the Hunter/Jumper world. I did anything I could to get any amount of saddle time. It didn't matter if the horse was a saint, naughty, too big etc. as long as I was able to ride. Those difficult horses are what really helped shape me. Throughout the time I spent in the Hunter realm, I competed in many local shows, 4H and State Championships.
Eventually, at 12 years old, I moved on to ride under an Eventing/Dressage trainer who studied and worked under a retired United States Cavalry Captain. Two years later I got my first horse; a very difficult Off Track Thoroughbred who went on to win more blue ribbons than I could dream. Our partnership was something I cherished and he really began to pave the way for my love of difficult horses. Together we won awards, trophies, and Dressage Championships that included scores up to 90%.
Between this horse and my instructor, I landed a working student position at 19 with one of the 4* Eventing riders I looked up to. The experiences, training, shows and work taught me everything I needed to get myself going in the Equestrian world and I am so grateful.
For about 2 years I spent time as an assistant manager and trainer of a boarding and lesson stable where I taught beginner through intermediate lessons, trained and competed for the farm, and helped in the day to day operations.
Afterward, I went back to work in the upper levels as a rider for an Ecuador Olympic rider. Here I rode, trained and handled horses including foals, stallions, young horses, Olympic and 5* mounts.During this time I also did a lot of traveling to shows to groom as well.
I spent time at a KWPN breeding farm managing the barn, broodmares and foals which allowed me to learn more about breeding horses and delivering the babies as well. It was such a rewarding experience.
Once again I stepped in to the world of Dressage and grooming and became  a full time Dressage groom for Hilltop Farm. The string of horses I worked with were ridden and trained by their assistant trainer but I also helped out with horses under the Head Trainer as well. Some of these were both breeding and competition stallions, young horses, client horses in for training and sales.
Horses have been a part of my life for over 20 years now and I wouldn't have it any other way. Currently I am working with a wild Mustang mare I rescued from a kill pen out in Colorado in November of 2021. She is coming along beautifully in her dressage work and I cannot wait to see where she goes.
